Degli Harmonia, "Documents 1975", una raccolta di registrazioni dal vivo emerse solo nel 2007, brani che provengono da nastri di alta qualità, accuratamente registrati e conservati, da un certo Asmus Tietchens, un grande appassionato di nastri di Cluster, Neu e Harmonia di Amburgo, che registrò due concerti dal vivo degli Harmonia con Mani Neumeier dei Guru Guru alla batteria nel 1975 in diversi club della città e che ottenne anche rari nastri di brani in studio degli Harmonia risalenti allo stesso anno. Nel 2015 sono stati pubblicati, eccoli.
Degli Harmonia in effetti ho gia' parlato nel post su Neu!'75, (Michael Rother lavorò negli "Harmonia" prima di quell'album) e nel post relativo al bellissimo "Musik von Harmonia", loro album di debutto. Come dicevamo, molti sostengono che come band non sia propriamente "Krautrock", ma uscendo dalla definizione del genere, le registrazioni elettroniche cosmiche e pionieristiche fanno di questa band una delle rappresentanti di musica elettronica piu' interessanti e questo "Documents 1975" lo conferma.
Solo 31 minuti, 4 brani due dei quali superano i 9 minuti, il primo registrato in studio, "Tiki-Taka", è un pezzo unico nella discografia degli Harmonia, un brano pieno di ritmiche realizzate con diversi strumenti tra i quali un'arpa Nagoya, uno strumento musicale a corda giapponese, usato per la prima volta in assoluto dai Neu! nel primo album in studio nel 1972 e dagli Harmonia formatisi nel 1973 e credo mai piu' in ambito rock pop. "Proto-Deluxe", un brano in studio che appare nel loro standard con un tono divertente e rilassante. Ci sono poi due brani live, in stile elettronico unito a sperimentazioni jam "psychkraut", (Krautrock psichedelico), un aspetto poco noto all'epoca in cui le registrazioni sono state trovate.
Una raccolta breve ma che esalta aspetti poco noti della band e anche (per me e i meno esperti del genere) del movimento Krautrock in generale e mi ha fatto conoscere meglio anche le capacita' e la creativita' di una grande band!

Harmonia, "Documents 1975", a collection of live recordings that only surfaced in 2007, tracks that come from high-quality tapes, carefully recorded and preserved, by a certain Asmus Tietchens, a great fan of Cluster, Neu and Harmonia tapes from Hamburg, who recorded two live Harmonia concerts with Mani Neumeier of Guru Guru on drums in 1975 in different clubs in the city and who also obtained rare tapes of Harmonia studio tracks from the same year. I actually already talked about Harmonia in the post about Neu!'75, (Michael Rother worked in "Harmonia" before that album) and in the post about the beautiful "Musik von Harmonia", their debut album. As we were saying, many argue that as a band it is not really "Krautrock", but going beyond the definition of the genre, the cosmic and pioneering electronic recordings make this band one of the most interesting representatives of electronic music and this "Documents 1975" confirms it.
Only 31 minutes, 4 songs two of which exceed 9 minutes, the first recorded in studio, "Tiki-Taka", is a unique piece in the discography of Harmonia, a song full of rhythms made with different instruments including a Nagoya harp, a Japanese string musical instrument, used for the first time ever by Neu! in the first studio album in 1972 and by Harmonia formed in 1973 and I believe never again in the rock pop field. "Proto-Deluxe", a studio song that appears in their standard with a fun and relaxing tone. Then there are two live tracks, in electronic style combined with "psychkraut" jam experiments, (psychedelic Krautrock), an aspect that was little known at the time the recordings were found.
A short collection but that highlights little-known aspects of the band and also (for me and those less experienced with the genre) of the Krautrock movement in general and it also made me better understand the skills and creativity of a great band!
